Latest projects. A convincing website, an urgent message, a familiar brand: digital decisions often happen before we have examined the evidence. TrustScan brings a practical question into focus: what deserves a second look before we click, share information or pay?

What is TrustScan?

TrustScan is a project developed at the AQPS Institute in Graz to help people interpret digital warning signs. It supports consideration of websites and emails, with available checks and scan history depending on the current app version. Individuals, teams and potential partners can contact the product team to discuss access and suitable use cases.

From information to a reasoned decision

The project connects with a recurring theme in Uwe Seebacher’s work: useful knowledge needs a method for interpretation. Recognising a detail is only the beginning. Understanding its context and deciding what to do next are equally important.

For a website or message, that may mean questioning an unusual domain, checking an offer that seems implausible or contacting the sender through an independently known channel. One warning sign alone does not prove fraud. Equally, an apparently reassuring result cannot rule out every risk. TrustScan supports judgement; it does not provide a security guarantee.

The people behind the project

Uwe Seebacher provides scientific guidance for the methodological concept. Jan Haas was responsible for technical implementation and delivery of the app. Tim Seebacher contributed to user guidance and the original app design. Together, these roles connect conceptual work with a usable digital experience.

For individuals, businesses and partners

Individuals can ask about current app access and supported devices. Businesses can discuss where employees or customers encounter suspicious links, messages or unfamiliar digital contacts. The product team clarifies whether available functions fit the requirement, along with scope and commercial terms.
